FAQ's
Do you shoot digital or film?
I shoot using the latest Nikon digital SLR cameras, lens & flash kits.
Where are you based?
I am based in the Cotswold town of Nailsworth, it's very picturesque here and a great place to meet for the Pre Wedding Shoot.
Do you have a back-up plan if something unforeseen happened like illness?
I always carry 2 sets of equipment and have full public liability and indemnity insurance. I also have a reciprocal arrangement with two experienced Wedding Photographers in case I'm ill on the day, we haven't had to use this safety net yet, but it's nice to know it's there. You can see their work at www.proofsheet.co.uk and Martin Neeves www.leicesterweddingphotographers.co.uk
What about hidden extras, reproduction rights etc?
I give you the reproduction rights included with all of our options and packages to enable you to do your own reprints if you wish. There are no hidden extras.
We want something contemporary but our parents want some traditional posed photos too. Can you do both?
I enjoy documentary style and informal portraits, but I am also properly equipped and experienced enough to take swift posed group portraits, synonymous with traditional wedding photography.?
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
It's never is bad as you think it will be, I usually gather all the guests with umbrellas to shield you from the worst of it and at the last minute they move out of the way, so far these shoots have been great fun. Wedding reception venues will often have an indoor space to set up flash lighting if required. I have studio lights to make the best of the situation.
Are you a full-time photographer?
Yes, photography is my only income.
Do you travel?
I am based in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire and work mainly in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Oxfordshire.
Food and soft drink?
I don't expect you to pay for my food and drinks. Once you've started eating I usually pop out for a sandwich.
Can we keep our files?
Yes, they're all yours for ever.
Do you charge VAT?
No
Can I order prints from you?
Yes you can order them from the 'Your pictures' page of my website or you can deal with a lab direct, I would recommend Simlab
I've tried to order prints but I always lose a bit of the picture, which print sizes will not need cropping?
Digital cameras create rectangular pictures with a ratio of 2 along and 3 up, this is called 2:3 aspect ratio. So if you want to get the best out of the whole picture, choose one of these print sizes:
6x4"
7.5x5"
9x6"
8x12"
10x12"
12x18"
16x24"
20x30"
45x30"
Any other size will require a crop meaning you'll lose a bit off of you picture.
Do you offer Giclee prints?
Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) is a fine art term describing high quality, short-run prints. But it's also a lovely way to display your favourite wedding picture, you can order them from the 'Your pictures' page of my site or go direct to the lab point101.com
